SAFETY AT HENDRICK CONSTRUCTION

Hendrick Construction is dedicated to providing a safe work environment for all employees. We consider safety to be an integral part of our company and proactively seek to maintain an ongoing safety program. The safety and well-being of all employees and subcontractors is our first priority throughout all phases of construction. Safety for, HCI is not just a corporate goal, it is a requirement! We strongly adhere to the principle that accident prevention is just as important to this organization as quality and production. We insist on safe methods and practices at all times. At no time will we sacrifice safety.

As a result of our commitment to safety excellence and adherence to strict operational guidelines, Hendrick has been honored with North Carolina's top safety achievement- the NCDOL's Building Star Award. HCI is one of only a handful of general contractors in our area to receive this prestigious designation. The Building Star works in conjunction with OSHA's Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP) which promote effective worksite-based safety and health. In the VPP, management, labor, and OSHA establish cooperative relationships at workplaces that have implemented a comprehensive safety and health management system. Approval into VPP is OSHA's official recognition of the outstanding efforts of employers and employees who have achieved exemplary occupational safety and health.

Hendrick is also the recipient of the Associated Building Contractor's (ABC) Platinum Safety Training and Evaluation Process (STEP) Award. To earn the Platinum award, a company must have been a recipient of a Gold or Platinum level the previous year and have a total recordable incident rate of 25 percent below the industry average in one of the past three years. Hendrick has been either a Gold or Platinum-level recipient of the STEP Award since 2007.
