SUSTAINABLE CONSTRUCTION (GREEN BUILDINGS)
Hendrick Construction is dedicated to the implementation of ever-changing sustainable construction practices throughout varying market places. We feel that green buildings are advantageous to the environment as well a means to provide both healthy and cost-effective benefits for building occupants and end users. As part of our commitment to reducing the impact on the communities we serve, we have instituted a voluntary recycling program aimed at reducing construction debris on all HCI work sites. In addition, HCI is in the process of reducing our carbon footprint on projects by implementing new reduction standards. We strive to use FSC products where applicable as well as other water and energy saving resources.
LEED PROGRESSION
Hendrick has a great deal of experience with sustainable construction projects. This understanding gives our partners the advantage of being able to maneuver effectively through the USGBC?s LEED documentation process. After working with ownership and design team members to set LEED parameters, Hendrick will provide the means necessary to ensure that prerequisites and desired points are achieved. A LEED schedule is developed and utilized in conjunction with the master construction schedule milestones to effectively steer team members, subcontractors and suppliers through the progression. Submittals are reviewed and documented in order to encapsulate all pertinent LEED data. Working through this method ensures that LEED information and procedures are captured and implemented at the preferred occasions in order to achieve the certification.
